I have the RCA cords going into my Peavey PV10 mixer, and then an Aux cord going into my soundcard on my computer (which is a fire breathing dragon computer from hell that I bought only 2 months ago, so I'm assuming it's not a PC problem). What I want you to do is pick your laptop up and listen closely and try to approximate where the noise may be coming from. The system fan, the hdd, the inverter (in rare instances). High pitched noises can be made by other components too. I get a very annoying high pitched noise when recording and playing back vinyl on it through my computer, after looking around on the internet I've concluded that its USB interference happening within the computer. I have a Numark USB record player that i've had for about a year now.
